John and Summer's Wedding

I finally had the chance to download my photos from John and Summer's wedding last Saturday. It was a beautiful and wonderful wedding. The weather was perfect, not hot but not cold. The sun was setting slowly during the ceremony and love was in the air! Both bride and groom were extremely happy, you could tell! We actually had a nice seats during the ceremony with a direct view of the couple - that never happens! So I got some good shots during the ceremony. It was dim in the receiption hall so the cake cutting photos aren't real clear. Their professional photographers were everywhere and I'm sure they got some great photos. We really enjoyed being a part of the evening...the food was delicious and it was fun to hang out with old friends and celebrate such a joyous occasion.

(Of course it would have been even more fun if we hadn't been so tired. Evan kept us up the night before and we only got 4-5 hours sleep. My brother was in town and stayed the night so I think that threw his routine off. It really was so out of character for him to fuss so much when being put to bed. Then during the day Saturday we were doing family photos so I didn't get to catch a nap at all. Hence the quick thrown up hair-do.)

Baby Scrapbooking

Okay, so as you may have seen in my previous posts, I am getting back into scrapbooking and so loving it! Anyway, an inspiration to me is Jessica Turner and she has guided me to many great products, websites, classes and more. Now she is going to be doing a week on her blog dedicated to scrapbooking your baby photos including product giveaways! I was the lucky recipient of her last giveaway and received some great scrap goodies! Anyway, it will run the second week in December - Dec. 8-12. So if you like to be creative and crafty, check it out! There is a button on the right side of my blog as a reminder with a link to her blog. She also regularly posts her scrapbook pages, and I really like her style and use them as inspiration for my pages.

Just a quick post and hope you all have a happy Monday!

Baby Feet

I love baby feet! Once those feet are all grown up, I'm not so fond of them. Well, unless they are in a really cute pair of shoes! But when they are baby feet, they are just the most precious thing. I especially love my son Evan's feet. They are pudgy and just adorable. I love seeing him in flip-flops and that's what he wore most of the summer. He got good use out of them here in Florida, but now that things are cooling down he's had to cover his little tootsies. So I wanted to get a few shots of him in my favorite of his flip-flops and had the opportunity to the other weekend at our church's beach baptism. I'm sure this will be the last time he wears them as the way his feet are growing he won't fit into them next year. Hope I'll be able to find something similar in a bigger size....I'll be keeping an eye on sales at Baby Gap (where I got them). So, here's a look at those sweet baby feet:

Just precious!

A Beautiful Brunch

This past weekend was a very low key weekend, and I pretty much stayed away from my computer. Needed a break. Hence why I haven't posted in over a week. Brad was out of town enjoying a bachelor weekend in Savannah with John and I got to attend a beautiful bachelorette brunch for Summer on Sunday. It was at the Grand Bohemian Hotel downtown, which is gorgeous and though I've been there for a function (years ago now) I haven't had the chance to try their food. It is delicious and their service is outstanding. Holding doors for you, very attentive wait staff, free valet parking...brunch comes with mamosas or whatever other drink you can think of. I felt very pampered. Here are some photos from that day.

I know Laura and Amy from RSR, where we all used to work together.

And here's me with the beutiful bride-to-be.

Now, we're counting down the days...only a few more to go. They are getting married this Sat. Nov. 15. I'm sure Brad and I will be taking lots of photos. It's going to be a blast!

Now I'll leave you with some photos of the little mini-book I made for Summer. It's to put small photos from the wedding in, and carry around in her purse. I know I just had a small photo from my wedding and it got all ratty being in my purse. So this way the photos are protected inside and the presentation is much nicer. I'm so enjoying the opportunity to be creative and crafty!

Overwhelmed by Support of Diabetes Walk

Update: You can still make donations to my campaign through the end of the year. Just click here.

Wow! I am extremely overwhelmed, in a REALLY good way, with all the support of my family and friends in donating to my participation in the ADA Diabetes walk. In such a short time, so many generously gave to support this cause that is so personal to me. I feel so loved and encouraged by this. I had set a goal of just $250 as I knew that economic times are tough, but ended up raising $545! (More than double my goal, and more than half of my whole team's goal.) THANK YOU SO MUCH to all who donated, and for those who lifted me and the walk up in prayer! Our friends John and Summer also came out to the walk to join us in support. And though it was early to get up in the morning, it was a nice cool morning and a nice way to start a Saturday. Here are the few photos I got a chance to take at the walk. My nurse practioner, Julie, who helps me manage my diabetes, and has been with me since my diagnosis, was also participating. It was great to see her there and she gave Evan a pumpkin balloon she had been using to help her other team members locate her.

Halloween

This Halloween was so fun as Evan was old enough to enjoy it this year. We had a good time at the fall festival even though it rained, and then his Nana and Papa took him around the neighborhood and he enjoyed ringing the doorbells and putting the candy in his bag. On Saturday I did a little photo shoot of Evan in his costume and got some sweet photos I've put on my Photobucket album. Here's my favorites.
